Special Recognitions received by Faculty/Students

1. Achieved the 'BEST STUDENTS AWARD 2006' from the ISTE Students Chapter during 9th Annual Convention of ISTE student chapter on 7th October held at Adichunchanagiri Institute of Tech.  Chikmanglore (Karnataka).
2. Secured First Position in the competition held in the Innovation Hub in 'INFOCOM 2006' an All India Technical Exhibition at the Salt Lake Stadium, Kolkata from 6th to 10th December 2006.
3. Third Place in Tech Top 2007, a National Project contest for Engineering Students, held at Technopark, Trivandrum on October 29, 2007.
4. Cash award for two innovative projects from the Innovation Ideas Unleashed (I2U) contest 2007.  The project also has been funded by the Research and development wing of the college.

External Funded Projects                            

1. The project "Intelligent light dimmer for automobiles" developed by Prof.Sathish John and Mr.Geevarghese Titus got a fund of Rs. 2.16 lakh from Kerala State Council for Science and Technology
2. Two projects from our Department are selected for ENTERPRENURSHIP DEVELOPMENT under        IEDC, Dept of Science and Technology, Govt of India. Each receives a fund of Rs 1 lakh each. The projects selected are

• Drivers Assistant- Faculty mentor-Mr.Liju V.Oommen, Student project leader-Mr. Thomas Lawrence

Patents 

"Intelligent light dimmer for Automobiles" developed by Prof.Sathish John and Mr.Geevarghese Titus has applied for patent under Kerala State Council for Science and Technology.

Awareness programmes

1. Conducted "Introductory Training on Electronics and Engineering" an awareness program for higher secondary schools
2. Organized an awareness program for the local public at Koovappally under the Kudambasree a women's development unit of Kerala Government on the merits and demerits of latest communication media, precisely about Mobile Communication.'
3. Team of 12 students under the leadership of Avinash Prabhakar along with the Mr.Akas Kamal Lecturer in ECE department participated by exhibiting and demonstrating health related projects and role of electronics in health care product in National Rural Health Mission  "AROGYAMELA 2007" organized by Vazhoor Block Panchayat in Government Taluk Hospital Kanjirappally from September 9 to 11th September 2007.
4. Our Department students and staff participated in the medical exhibition in connection with NRHM health mela organized by Kanjirapally Constituency under the Government of Kerala, conducted on 15th & 16th September 2007 at St.Thomas Higher Secondary School School Erumely.
5. Prof. KG Satheeshkumar and Mr. Avinash Prabhakar presented the working of 'Electronic Locking Device' for locking the chains of elephant running berserk and also "Electronic Wheel Chair" for disabled person in State council for preventing cruelty to animals organized by SCPA and Animal husbandry department of Alleppey district, Kerala in their one day seminar.  Both these products were developed by Mr. Avinash Prabhakar under the guidance of Prof. KG Satheesh Kumar, HOD ECE.
