About the Department
The department was established during the inception of the institute in 2001. Since its commencement, the primary objective of the department has been to impart quality education, training and research at the undergraduate level in various areas of Electronics and Communication Engineering with broad emphasis on design aspects of electronic systems.
The department has committed faculty with meticulous teaching and technical experience. Modern laboratories with expert lab instructors are a special feature. Another unique feature of the department is that it provides technical facilities for developing in-house projects as part of the curriculum in supporting R&D works. The department conducts supplementary technical programs, industrial visits, technical exhibitions, regular seminars and invited talks in current topics.
The major areas of faculty expertise of the department include Communications, Embedded Systems,Network Communication & Security,Sensors,Mechatronics, Signal Processing ,VLSI, Image Processing and Power Electronics.The course structure is updated regularly and in tune with the latest Communication scenario. Topics like Signal & Systems, DSP, Micro controller Based System Design, VLSI Technology, Computer Networks, Advanced Communication Systems, VHDL, Advanced Mathematics, Embedded Systems, System Software, OOP with C++, Digital Image Processing are all included with core subjects
The department offers the following degrees: B. Tech in Electronics & Communication Engineering with an intake of 120 students, M. Tech in Communication Engineering with an intake of 18 students.
