To prepare the students to take on appropriate professional positions upon graduation and to grow into leadership positions, the syllabi of the course is uniquely designed. In addition to the prescribed university syllabus, the following special initiatives have been introduced by the department to prepare the graduates to meet the challenges of the dynamically changing IT industry.
Industry Mentored Student Projects
We provide freedom to the students to choose project topics that are state-of-the-art as well as industry relevant. Depending on the project area chosen by the students, the department appoints a faculty members, who has experience in the area or related areas, as project supervisors. Students get the unique opportunity to communicate and interact with relevant industry professionals who will act as Project Mentors. The database of the project mentors and communication modalities are controlled by the Head of the Department.
Personality Re-engineering
A personality development course designed to help the students discover themselves and to hone their interpersonal, leadership and communication skills.
Technical Excellence for Placement
The department organizes special interactive programmes for final year students to boost their confidence and competence in technical areas of Information Technology and to enable them to excel in responding to technical interview questions.
Introduction to Problem Solving
Keeping in view of the diverse background of the students, 'Introduction to Problem Solving' has been designed as a bridge course to lay strong foundation in problem solving. This course helps students to enhance their logical thinking. The main objective of the course is to assist the students, who come from Biology background, to reduce their apprehensions towards C-programming.

Seminars and discussions with experts from industry as well as academics are organized regularly to provide a platform for students to keep abreast of latest developments.
Performance Enhancement Tests
To integrate continuous evaluation into the teaching-learning progress, Performance Enhancement Tests are conducted every Monday. The focus of PET is on 3 Ps-progress, process and product. Through this evaluation the teacher continuously monitors the progress of the students. The process of learning is also monitored and if needed, be altered. The quality of the product of the learning is also assessed.
