Consultancy works  

1. Mr.Sherin Sam Jose has done a pre-funding evaluation for a "Roof top rain water harvesting"  project under  CAPART  Institutional monitoring.
2. Mr. Ajithkumar J P has done a post-funding evaluation for a "Roof top rain water harvesting"  project under  CAPART  Institutional monitoring.

FDP on  "SPOTLIGHT ON RISK MANAGEMENT OF CHEMICAL PLANTS/OIL REFINERIES"

Te department organized a AICTE Faculty Development Programme "SPOTLIGHT ON RISK    MANAGEMENT OF CHEMICAL PLANTS/OIL REFINERIES" from 27^th April to 9^th May 2009. It was the first ever  AICTE sponsored  faculty development program held at Amal Jyothi. The program was co-ordinated by Prof.K.P.Sundareswaran and Prof. Sherin Sam Jose. Twenty participants from various engineering colleges attended the two week long course. The sessions were handled by industry experts from HOCL, TCC and academicians from Cochin University of Science & Technology.

 STTPs Attended

1. Mr. Ivin Jose attended a workshop on "Energy Management – Challenges & Future Prospects" held at St.Joseph’s college of engineering & Technology, Palai from 19^th to 23^rd January 2009. 

2. Mr. Mathew Joseph attended an STTP on "Developments in Air Conditioning and Ventilation" held at IIT Madras from 16^th to 22^nd August 2008.

3.  Mr.Alex Chollackal and Mr. Arjun K.R attended a worshop on "Nanotechnology-Significance& Applications" held at St.Joseph’s college of engineering & Technology, Palai on 7^th November 2008.

4.  Mr. Mathew Joseph and Mr. Jibin .C .Jacob attended a Faculty Development Program on "Optimum  Energy Utilisation  in Thermal Systems" held at NIT Calicut from 17^th to 30^th May 2009.

5. Mr. Arjun K.R attended a workshop on "Technical Writing in Malayalam" fron 9^th to 14^th April 2009 at the School of Environmental studies, M.G University.

Student Achievements

Academic Results: MG University has published the results of S3/S5/S7 semesters and the following students scored maximum marks in the respective classes.

Activities of the Royal Mech. Association (RMA)

PERSONALITY DEVELOPMENT CLASS

 A personality development class was conducted for third year mechanical engineering students by Dr.C.B Saji on 12^th March 2009 at 10.00am. He is from the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Mar Athanasius College of Engineering , Kothamangalam. The three hour session was exciting and was filled with games which students found it helpful in unleashing their potential and creativity.              

TALK BY FCRI PERSONNEL

 A talk on the courses offered by Fluid Control Research Institute (FCRI) was organised on 26^th March 2009 at 2.30 pm at the Seminar Hall. Dr.M.Viswanathan, Senior Deputy director, FCRI gave an overview of the various P.G Certificate Programs offered by the Institute. It was accompanied by a video presentation on the facilities available at their labs. It was a lively session with the students eager to learn the details of the syllabus as well as the placement assistance.

Farewell to the passing out Batch(2005-2009)

 A farewell to the passing out batch was arranged on 7^th April at4.00pm in the auditorium. It was organised  by the pre final year students on behalf of the Royal Mech. Association. Few of the final year students; Vijesh and Alias John recollected their memories at AJCE. Principal Fr. Jose Kannampuzha, Head of the Department, Prof. Tomy Joseph, Prof. K.P Sundareswaran, Class Teacher of the passing out Batch Prof. Sherin Sam Jose and Mr. Mathew Joseph spoke on the occasion. The event was lively with couple of songs by Antony Lulu (S8 ME) and  Hari P.R(S6ME).
